19 THINGS I'VE LEARNT BEING 19

Hello guys, it has been a while since I last sat down and wrote a post and I'll admit, it feels quite weird. But let me tell you, it feels so good to finally type something other than a lab report and I am so excited to get started blogging again.
As my 19th year on this planet draws to a close, I thought I'd do a similar thing, like I did when I was 18, and tell you 19 things I've learnt whilst being 19 (please don't judge my stupidity aha.)

1) I have a deep fear of water, which I learnt on my 19th birthday. If I can't see the bottom; I am not going in.
2) Every person is different with different traits and personalities thus they have different ways of doing things.
3) Since moving out, I've really started to enjoy cooking.
4) I have made some mistakes along the way such as, leaving the door to the grill shut whilst making cheese on toast. Lets just say it came out v burnt.
5) No matter what you do or say, even if you've just met them and haven't said a word to them, if they don't like you, they don't like you.
6) If you want to keep the weight off, stick to the gym. I made the mistake of not eating well and not exercising thus, gaining the Fresher's Fifteen.
7) You make your own happiness.
8) Hard work will give you results in every area of life.
9) You can't force a friendship, no matter how hard you try.
10) Therefore, just because you've been friends with someone forever doesn't mean they can't and will not change.
11) TO SAY YES MORE
12) Just because your friend looks good in something it doesn't mean you will.
13) Just because someone is an adult, it does not mean they will act like one.
14) Wearing slightly wedged boots to walk up a hill makes walking up said hill much easier. Trust me on this one, Brghton is full of them.
15) You have to pick your battles.
16) To get what you want in life you have to sacrifice some things.
17) DO NOT WEAR A LEOTARD IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING DRUNK.
18) You will NOT like all of your housemates. I only like 1/4 of mine.
19) Living in Brighton is brill.

I admit, it was hard coming up with some of the things I learned but I am really glad that I did. I am sad to be leaving my teenage years behind yet I am so excited for my twenties (wow, that does sound pretty scary and old.)

What have you learned in the past year? I would love to know!
