A COURT OF MIST AND FURY BY SARAH J MAAS REVIEW | BOOK TALK #13

Last year I read one of my absolute favourite books of the year: 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J Maas (review here) and in May this year, the sequel came out: 'A Court of Mist and Fury' by Sarah J Maas and it was absolute amazing.

I thought the whole book was going to be completely different to how it was. I though it was going to  be another YA soppy love triangle but I was thankfully proved wrong. Without giving any spoilers (don't read this if you haven't read ACOTAR) I'll give you a quick synopsis.

So we start off three months after Feyre saved Tamlin and all the fae from Aramantha, who was the torturous Queen who held them captive under the mountain. In doing so all the High Lords gave Feyre a bit of their powers, which we will explore so much more in this book. Feyre is plagued by nightmares and of course her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court who saved her countless of times in the trials. The bargain stipulates that Feyre has to spend time with Ryhsand in his court. Feyre is slowly loosing who she is and with a big day occurring, Rhysand comes to collect his bargain and it all starts from there.

Sarah J Maas's writing and story telling was absolutely spectacular. The characters we meet from Rhysand's side were a complete surprise and I found that I loved every single character, which is strange for me. She gave each and every character a different personality and a brilliant backstory, which kind of has made me into a fangirl about the ACOTAR series.
I do believe ACOMAF was so much better than the first book as it was so different and rotated 180 degrees as what I thought would happen, didn't and it was just so unusual for a YA prequel.

RATE: *****

If you haven't read 'A Court of Mist and Fury' yet, definitely do so because it is brilliant and you will love it.
If you have read it please tell me or tweet me and we can fangirl over it together :)

Which book did you prefer ACOTAR or ACOMAF?
