my life in boxes

Hello! I actually have a proper excuse for not postinqqg in about four days. Oh wow, that sounds short but feels so long! I have been moving house. Well  technically I have been moving into my aunts and uncles house whilst are new one gets ready.
It has just been so hectic, with packing, college work and even more packing. Yes, I was one of those people who left it to the last minute. I've just been really stressed. However, today was the day we moved and it was awful! The new owner of the house is very (can't say the word on here.)
Seeing my house and my room empty, stripped of everything we owned, I thought would make me upset but somehow seeing my home for the past seven years like that made me quite happy.
I'm treating 2014 as a fresh start for everything and a new fresh home will be perfect!

Have you ever moved? I feel for you if you have.

Question: A Quote You Live By?

'Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken,' is a quote, i most definitely live by every single day. The quote is by Oscar Wilde, who is kind of my favourite classical philosopher quote person.

When i first heard the quote, I was in the stage where I thought I was not good enough and my personality will not mix with the group of people i wanted to mix with. I thought I had to change myself just to fit in. That was until, I saw this quote (following a tad bit of maturing.)

I suddenly started thinking that, 'what is the point of trying to change myself, if i am going to be unhappy?' The people who I was with/ wanted to be with will never truly like me for me. There is already a copy of that person I want to be, why do i want to be a clone? Therefore I stopped looking at myself as someone else and started looking at myself as me. I found and still am finding who i am and who i aspire to be. That sounds a tiny bit contradicting- 'the who i want to be' part. It is not me wanting to be a certain individual but me wanting to be a certain type of individual. For example, i want to be healthy, nice and someone fun to be around.
This quote always reminds me that: there is only one you in the world. You are unique, unlike anyone else. So what, if people don't like you? Other people will.
It reminds me that: you are important, the only person you should be is yourself.

What quotes do you live by?

Book Haul #2: The December Edition

Since discovering BookTube this December, I have been inspired to read more. Ofcourse, this is not good for me, nor my bank account or studies. Nevertheless, as I was volunteering I came across a few books that were in amazing condition and though- hey, might aswell.

1) The Book Of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern: I was reading Thanks for the Memories, although I stopped as I couldn't really read it, but I liked the writing style. When I saw this, I picked it up as the cover is gorgeous and I knew what it was about. This woman finds a book and everyday she would read a page but the page tells her what she is going to do tomorrow... hence the title.

2)The Morning Gift by Eva Ibbotson: I was on the fence about getting this book as I have not read any historical young adult books. However, I went on goodreads and the reviews were quite good so I decided to pick it up. The book is about a girl in the second world war who falls in love etc.

3) The Girl on the Landing by Paul Torday: to be honest, I know nothing about this book or author- oh no, her wrote Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,' but I read the blurb and thought it was pretty interesting as it is about a couple who are having problems until the husband finds something- it's quite weird. The cover is pretty cool though, I am also currently reading this and it braches onto being paranormal but still stays contemporary.

4)Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. So this is the first book in the True Blood series. I am obsessed with YA books and vampires so I thought I'd like this as I haven't watched any True Blood episodes. Again, this was from the charity shop and is in great condition.

5)Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare: I am so excited about this book it's unreal. I have been wanting to read the Infernal Devices for so long so as soon as I saw it in the charity shop, whilst I was buying my blogger book swap items, I had to get it. Ive heard so mant great things about this book and cannot wait to read it. I think it is the first in a 5 book series- WOOOP!

6)World After by Susan Ee: The amount of good things I have heard about this book is amazing! It is second in the series or duology, the first book is Angel Fall. I thought i'd get this as it will never be £1 again will it? Also, i definitely know I am going to read those books, all I need is the first one.

Happy New Year! What do I Want to Achieve in 2014?

Image Found Here

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014! I hope you all had a lovely New Years, I know I did! I went to Primrose Hill and just missed the countdown but it was all good :) 2014 is going to be, definitely a year of change for me as I am moving house, meeting new people and experiencing new things as I get older.

Last year, I made resolutions and I achieved 3.5/5. Therefore this year, I thought I'd share some of my new year's resolutions with you. I always try to stick to my NY Resolutions so I might come back in 2015 and say if I achieved any of them :)

1) Continue on in my weightloss. This means not to go back to old eating habits and maintain working out 3/4 times a week, to result into finally getting my goal body.

2)Expand my blog and YouTube. I want to become much more confident in my blog and making videos. I want my blog to become more myself. I know 2013 was finally coming out of my blogging shell so I hope 2014 will be expanding my blogging/vlogging oppurtunities.

3) Save enough money to buy and MacBook Pro and a Canon Camera. So I roughly have to save around £1600! This may or may not happen, depending if i...

4) Get a Job. I want to get a job so I can make my own money and buy things I want to buy.

5) Ace all of my AS exams. So this means revising very hard and making sure I understand everything.

6) Keep a memory jar. I totally missed out on doing this last year so I am definitely going to do it this year. Whenever something good happens to me I will write it down and place it in the jar and then at the end of 2014 I will open them all up and see all of the good things that happened to me this year.

So those are a few of my New Years Resolutions!

What are some of yours, if you have made any?
